Homemade Frozen Dog PUPsicles

We have another delicious summer treat recipe you can make for your dog to not only treat them, but help keep them cool this season! This pupsicle recipe includes pumpkin and banana, both healthy foods for your dogs that provide vitamins and minerals they might not be getting from their usual diet. Pumpkin helps support a healthy digestive system and helps promote a healthy coat. Bananas are a great source of vitamin C, potassium and vitamin B6, all essential to your dog’s overall health and wellness. However, a quick reminder: while human foods can be beneficial to our dogs, making sure to give them in moderation is key to regulating your dog’s digestive system and not introducing too many new ingredients and food groups at one time.

These frozen treats will be perfect for a back-yard treat in their Pet Gazebo under the shade! Follow the easy recipe below!

Ingredients

  • 1 banana mashed
  • 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • dog biscuits (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a medium bowl and mix well.
  2. Spoon the mixture into homemade popsicle molds and top them with a dog biscuit “popsicle stick” if using. I had to cut one end off of each of my dog biscuits to make them fit.
  3. Freeze for 6 hours or overnight. To release the pupsicles, just run the popsicle mold under warm water for a few seconds until the pupsicle slides out easily.
